While many of us are looking forward to having a white Christmas, or cruising over the slopes in a well timed ski holiday, there are a few of us who are taking a plane to a warmer climate for the festive period. To those who are bailing on freezing temperatures for the burning heat of Brazil or Barbados, you'll be looking to splash out on some of Resort's finest pieces.
One of the key trends for swimwear is glamour. We're talking about the deep V, huge heavy swathes of fabric, cut-out details and crossover necklines. Maybe not the most practical for scuba diving, but you'll look more than divine when you're sensually reclined on a sun lounger, complete with body oil, sunhat and colourful cover-up.
The designer that seemed to embody that free and easy luxury this year was Marios Schwab, whose stunning pieces were both versatile and irreverent. We loved the way he used print and colour to tie the pieces in with the place in which they would be worn, paired with simple but bold accessories for a practical and chic finish.
If you want to recreate his inspirational look for your holiday, try and choose a costume that embodies the trends of Resort, like this Melissa Odabash swimsuit, which can be worn as both the deep V, and as a crossover, seen in Schwab's above look. A retro and warm toned floaty kaftan is essential, and we've found the perfect one in Athena Procopiou. The staple accessories come in the form of a wearable Sensi Studio panama hat, and a pair of A Piedi sandals, which will last you through til the summer. Finally, some waterproof Guerlain allows a bit of cheeky lip tint - because what's glamour without beauty?
