The Soho neighborhood in New York City is home to it's fair share of luxury fashion. Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, Chanel, Stella McCartney, Versace, Burberry and more call a stretch of blocks in Soho home, and yet, everyone is buzzing about the brand new Saint Laurent store.
On the heels of the much-talked about opening of Saint Laurent’s Avenue Montaigne boutique earlier this month in Paris, Saint Laurent has opened its highly anticipated doors on Greene Street in Soho.
While the store has been rumored to be opening for over a year, according to Saint Laurent communications, the store was slated to open today. The space, however, has actually been open to the public for a few days now.
The Art Deco-themed Soho store is quite large (4,000 square feet) and as expected, screams Hedi Slimane. The house’s still fairly new creative director has played a large role in re-naming and re-branding the iconic Parisian design house since he took the reigns last spring. The décor of the newly opened store, which, like the Paris store, was designed by Slimane himself, boasts a modern, luxe aesthetic with white silk marble, nickel-plated brass and mirror polished brass.
This is the second flagship store in New York City, following the one at 3 East 57th Street. Much like the 57th street store, the Soho location carries both the men's and women's ready-to-wear collections, plus a full range of accessories. If you’re in town, be sure to pay the Saint Laurent store a visit. It is located at 80 Greene Street, New York, NY 10014. If not, stay tuned. Saint Laurent's Sloane Street concept store in London is set to open this Fall.
