NAME: Imogen Poots
SIGNATURE STYLE: Offbeat interpretations of classic Hollywood looks. On the red carpet, Poots often teams her Prada or Miu Miu floaty dresses with chunky bright strapped statement heels, and smoky smudged eyes. On the set for her new film, Squirrels to the Nuts, she plays a prostitute-turned-actress, and showcases some enviable New York style, including distressed short-shorts, ripped tees and off-the-shoulder knits.
YOU MIGHT RECOGNISE HER FROM... a pretty impressive catalogue of completed films. Two of her first ventures included V for Vendetta and 28 Weeks Later, launching an almost non-stop run of projects since then, including working with Michael Fassbender twice, in Centurion and Jane Eyre respectively. Lucky thing. You might also remember that perfect pout from Sofia Coppola's Marni advert in 2012. She was the sultry protagonist.
WE LOVE HER BECAUSE... she has had no formal training. It's just pure natural talent. Despite being offered a place in the Courtauld Institute of Art, she refused it, believing that her experiences on a film set would provide all the education she needed to further her career. So far this seems to have been a wise decision, as the offers have been rolling in. We also love her in Chloe's 2011 fragrance advert - she refers to Chloe as a 'foundation' of style, explaining that she feels like she can build her own identity around their brand. We couldn't have put it better ourselves.
WE CAN'T WAIT FOR... her trio of new movies. Squirrels to the Nuts, with Jennifer Anniston and Owen Wilson, is garnering a lot of public attention, but we're equally excited about her romantic comedy venture Are We Dating Yet? with Zac Efron. Also, for those who read last week's Fresh Face, Imogen Poots will also be starring alongside Tuppence Middleton in the adaptation of Nick Hornby's A Long Way Down.
INTERESTINGLY, despite starring in several horrors and thrillers, Poots admitted to Interview magazine that she doesn't enjoy watching them. The same interview also revealed that her ex-boyfriend gifted her with an adopted otter from London Zoo. The best present ever?
